Looking for your feedback

We have a new website that should be up and running this weekend. That being said, we are looking for testimonials to post.

Have you shopped in our store old or new?
Have you been to a class, crop or retreat that we have hosted?
Have your kids been to a birthday party at our store or a kids class?
Did you have a private booking in our studio?

Whatever it was we would love to hear from you. You can post it below in the comments or pop us an email at victoria@scraptease.ca.

We would love it if you would include the town that you are from. Your name or initials are optional.

Thank you so much!

Well much is going on here behind the scenes. I have re-organized the trailer and still working on it. Most product are all in bins now which means a little more digging for you but this also means that I can carry more product!

I have a meeting tomorrow for our "NEW" website. I am so excited to get this going. I am hoping to have all of our products online for you to view.

I have been busy making cards for clients and having a blast doing so! I started out as more of a cardmaker than a scrapbooker and it is nice to get back into it.  Here are a couple of them.

sorry for the bad lighting on this one..

These cards can be found at
The Tin Barn Market in Almonte, ON

I hope to get cracking on my halloween and winter layouts this weekend at the Kars Krop. I have been promising these for a class since September but have been finding it challenging since losing my crafting space in August. I am working on getting that re-organized as well. Hopefully by then end of this month...

Josie is finishing up her Christmas cards and we should be able to post those by the weekend.

Well, that is all for tonight, off to finish up laundry and dishes.

Use Those Scraps!

Hey everyone,
Hope your fall is going well. It will be winter and Christmas before you know it! Now before we get ahead of ourselves and start buying up all of those amazing x-mas and winter lines, lets get rid of some of the beautiful scraps we've been hoarding!

Here is a great (and totally easy) way to use bits and strips. Turn them into banners and flags. There is nothing on my layout below other than the background page and scraps of paper. The key is to dress them up by outlining them, distressing them and adding a bit of flare by using brads and gems. hope you can find some inspiration from this page!

Happy Scrapping :)

Get Organized, Get Cropping

If you're anything like me, the night before Elgin's crop you'll be tossing random tools, embellishments, papers and piles of photos into a suitcase or numerous rubbermaid bins and hoping you've got the right stuff to be able to crop your little heart out and create some amazing projects. I wont lie; on more than one occasion I have been pulling my own hair, unable to believe I  forgot my cutter, or adhesive or ALL the photos I intended to scrap.... oh boy. Not this year! It's Sunday night, the crop is one week away and I have compiled a short list of organization tips and links to make your crop day as fun and efficient as possible:

Pick a Theme - Focus on one particular project you're going to work on. Example: Christmas cards and Holiday pages only. Or vacation and travel pages only.  One child or one event. This way you can avoid bringing every single stamp and piece of paper you own just because you 'Might' need it!

Print Your Photos NOW - I've done this myself and I've witnessed others do it too. Making a trip to Walmart pre-crop only to get to the arena and find out you're really uninspired by the usb you decided to print from. Worse yet? The photos all turned out dark and you need to go back and sort things out with the photo lab. Avoid that stress, avoid that blood boiling and deflating moment by sitting down on Monday night, sending your photos to the shop and picking them up by Wednesday. This way, if you change your mind about what you want to scrap, you've still got a few days to do it!

Bring & Sort Inspiration - Do a little research first. Here are some blogs where you can find some great sketches that you can print out or bookmark on your smartphone. If you happen to find yourself with 'scrappers-block' you can turn to these maps for inspiration. Here are a few links: http://creativescrappers.blogspot.ca/ and http://www.pagemaps.com/sept12maps.htm. Nothing wrong with a little scrap-lifting! I always pack a few issues of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, and Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine to get my creative juices flowing.

If you've got any extra ideas that make you a savvy 12 hour cropper, please leave a suggestion in our comments section. We'd love to hear all of your crafty and organized ideas. Looking forward to Saturday and looking forward to being prepared...for once! ~Designer Brenna

Summer's End

Hey everyone, summer's wrapping up and I'm sure your pile of photos is stacking up too. So many adventures to capture and memories to document. Fall is my favourite time to scrapbook. If you're looking for a few examples of summer pages, check out my personal blog for some recent summer scrapping. A tip for great embellishments to use on summer pages: Brads, eyelets and bakers twine give that perfect 'nautical feel' for any wet and wild pages you have in mind. Happy scrapping. ~Designer Brenna

Summer update

Well first off I would like to apologize for having disappeared over the summer. We have periodically checked in on Facebook but really have not done too much of anything else on line. I am currently working on redesigning our website and trying to get our products online for you to view. We will not be offering shipping but you will be able to set up a cart and we will get your order ready for you to pick up in Carleton Place or at an event that we will be at throughout Ottawa and the Valley.

We have a busy September ahead starting off with our Monthly Open Crafter's Day September 8th and ending with Elgin's Crop for childhood cancer on September 29th. In between those dated we will be at many crops as a vendor. I will update our calendar on our website this week. The details to the two events mentioned above are available on our facebook page under events. www.facebook.com/scraptease

On a personal note, this summer has been crazy busy. My son turned 4 in July and my two daughters turn 2 and 6 in September. My husband has signed on again to coach and GM of the Perth Blue Wings Jr. B Hockey team and we have taken in 2 - 20 yr old hockey billets that play for the Carleton Place Canadians Jr. A team.

SCRAPtease participated in the Bridge Street Bazarr in Carleton Place in August and sponsored and played in the Perth Blue Wings Golf Tournament. I am just finishing up the thank you cards that we made for them to give to their sponsors and have been commissioned for other team cards. We have also been hired by an event planning company In The Moment Parties and Event Planning to do a few paper related projects for them and I have been having alot of fun. You can also see some of our work at the Tin Barn in Almonte and Art & Class in Perth.

I will do my best to get on track once the kiddies are back in school. Hey, did I mention that my little man starts JK next week! Not sure if I am more excited just that he is starting or that I will have 2 in school! lol

Well, there is a quick update. and hopefully I can get much more organized in the coming weeks!
